Optiflow Nasal Cannula offers comfort and confidence for patients and clinicians. This patient interface is designed for delivery of humidified respiratory gases.

Features:

• Evaqua technology is designed to reduce the formation of mobile condensate - permeable membrane allows water vapor to diffuse through the walls of the tubing freely
• The three-way connector fits all F&P circuits - allows use with both F&P Airvo and F&P 850 systems
• A customizable head strap provides a secure, soft fit - no loose strap ends around the face and made of softer, tubular material with Stretchwise technology
• The head strap clip removes the need for a lanyard - works in tandem with the tubing clip to support the weight of the circuit, designed to prevent the cannula from being dislodged and also help facilitate eating, drinking, and communicating by keeping the cannula tubing away from the mouth
• Soft cheek pads are designed to add stability and reduce pressure on the face - larger surface area designed to reduce pressure points, improved attachment between check pad and head strap, designed to minimize unintentional disconnection and has three color-coded sizes for instant size recognition
• Contoured prongs for a softer, streamlined fit - anatomical design to improve airflow and sit comfortably in the nares, concave base designed to alleviate pressure on the septum and contoured to match the shape of the upper lip

Suggested Use:

• Select appropriate size
• Prongs must not create a seal in the nares
• A clear gap must be visible around each prong
• Adjust headstrap to fit. Do not over-tighten
• Ensure headstrap clip is attached, to prevent cannula from being pulled out of the nares
• Cannula can become unattached if not used with the headstrap clip
• Attach tubing clip to clothing/bedding to prevent cannula from pulling off face
• If using an MR850, attach the tubing clip to the breathing circuit but ensure probe cable is not crushed by tubing clip

Warning:

• Appropriate patient monitoring must be used at all times
• Failure to monitor the patient may result in loss of therapy, serious injury or death
• Nasal delivery of respiratory gases generates flow-dependent positive airway pressure (PAP)
• This must be taken into account where PAP could have adverse effects on a patient
• Do not use with an air entrainer, to avoid overpressure
• Do not use near a naked flame, to avoid fires
• Do not crush or stretch tube, to prevent loss of therapy
• For single patient use only
• Reuse may result in transmission of infectious substances
• Attempting to reprocess will result in degradation of materials and render the product defective

Caution:

• Failure to use the set-up described above can compromise performance and affect patient safety
• Before connecting the interface, check for adequate gas flow and ensure that the system has warmed up
• Check for condensate regularly
• Drain as required
• Do not use if packaging is not sealed

Hospital Use:

• This product is intended to be used for a maximum of 14 days
• Do not soak, wash or sterilise

Home Use: This product is intended to be used for a maximum of 30 days providing daily and weekly cleaning instructions are followed (see the MyAIRVO 2 User Manual).
